Harvey W. Wallace, Jr.

Mr. Harvey E. WALLACE, Jr., of Topeka passed away Sept 10, 2003 in a local hospital. He was born on Oct. 20, 1930 in Ft. Scott, KS to Harvey E. and M. Ethel Strader Wallace.

Harvey attended and graduated from Chanute High School, Chanute Junior College and Kansas State University. He was a Civil Engineer for the State of Kansas Dept. of Transportation for 42 years. As an active member of K.A.P.E, he served as a member at large, on the Board of Directors and as Treasurer. Mr. Wallace served on The Board of Directors of Credit Union 1 for 20 years.

Many years were spent as a Scout Master with Troop 70, Crestview United Methodist Church.

Harvey was a very active member of First Congregational Church. He was Moderator and held many offices through the years.

On May 24, 1953 in Kansas City, MO he married Janet Barger, she survives and lives in Topeka. Other survivors include three sons; Tony Wallace of Loveland, CO, Michael Wallace and his wife Catherine Morris of Lawrence, KS, Samuel Clay Wallace of Philadelphia, PA; one daughter Becca Cole and her husband Steven of Topeka, KS and one brother, Gordon E. Wallace of Martinsburg, W.V.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, Sept. 15, 2003 at 11:00 am, in First Congregational Church. Inurnment will be in the in Memorial Garden of the church.

Memorial donations may be made to First Congregational Church or donor's choice of charity.

Penwell-Gabel Mid Town is in charge of arrangements.
