Harold Myers

Harold F. Myers, 94, of Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 6 at Aldersgate Village.

He was born December 8, 1910 in Soldier, Kansas, the son of Samuel S. and Hilda Chrisman Myers.

He attended elementary school in Soldier and Circleville, graduating from Circleville High School in 1928. He then graduated from the Lawrence Business College in 1930. He began work at the Federal Prison in Leavenworth, KS. in 1935, retiring in October of 1969. He was drafted into the Army in 1943 where he served with the 65th Infantry Division in France, Germany and Austria. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Leavenworth. He and his wife moved to Topeka in 1990 after residing 55 years in Leavenworth, KS. He was also a member of VFW Post # 1650 and NARFE in Topeka.

He married Gladys Coleman on July 22, 1939 in Hoyt, KS. She survives.

Other survivors include: a daughter, Marlene A. Eisenring and her husband Richard of Taos, NM; three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday December 12, 2005 in Wesley Hall at Aldersgate Village, with private family inurnment at a later date.
