Harold D. Fletcher, 80, Topeka, passed away Fri., Oct. 3, 2008 at his residence.
Harold was born in Topeka, KS on Aug. 29, 1928, the son of Jesse and Lula (Arbuthnot) Fletcher.
He married Vivian Ione Wittenbach in Topeka on Nov. 21, 1946. She survives.
Mr. Fletcher served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951-1955.
Mr. Fletcher owned and operated HD Fletcher Roofing Company for 50 years. He was a lifetime resident of Topeka and attended Crestview United Methodist Church. His hobbies included bowling,gardening, traveling and spending time with his grandchildren.
Harold is survived by his daughter, Cindy (Dan) Adams and Darrin Fletcher all of Topeka; brother, Arthur Fletcher and sister, Norma Talbott; three grandchildren, Dallas & Kacy Adams and Garrett Fletcher.
He was preceded in death by a son, Michael D. Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1310 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Fletcher will lie in state after 3:00 p.m., Mon. with visitation from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
