Harold D. Glaze, 74, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Aldersgate Village in Topeka. He was born July 21, 1936 in Emporia, the son of Arthur and Marjorie Herman Glaze. He graduated from Emporia High School and had resided there until moving to Topeka in 1995.
While living in Emporia, he owned and operated several businesses' including The Fireside Inn Tavern, The Attic Private Club and the McGillicutty's Restaurant & Pub. He was also a member of the American Legion, the Rotary Club, the Fraternal Order of Eagle's and Emporia Country Club.
Harold married Esther Storey on September 16, 1960 in Miami, OK. They later divorced. Survivors include two daughters; Kimberly (Daniel) Munoz of Topeka, Jackie Glaze of Atlanta, one son, Kelly (Kelly) Glaze of Topeka, 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Glaze.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at Charter Funeral Home, 501 W 6th Avenue, Emporia, KS. Interment will follow at Maplewood Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. Harold will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Alzheimer's Association, 4125 SW Gage Center Dr., Ste.
