Harold Allen
Harold Clark Allen, 86, of Topeka, passed away, Monday, October 20, 2003 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born January 7, 1917 at Overbrook, KS the son of Hugh William and Delia Ann (Ware) Allen. Mr. Allen was a graduate of Baker University. While at Baker he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity.
Harold worked as an accountant for the State of Kansas Highway Department 38 years retiring in 1983.
He served in the United States Coast Guard.
Harold was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, the Retired Highway Employees Association, Orient Lodge #51 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies of Topeka, and the Arab Shrine.
He was married to Bernice Baker. She preceded him in death. He married Virginia M. Bulla April 16, 1955. She survives. Other survivors include:
two sons, Earle B. & Peggy A. Allen Topeka, KS
Jonathan C. & Gina G. Allen Topeka, KS
one sister, Thelma Nichols Overland Park, KS
and five grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 23, at Trinity Presbyterian Church. Cremation will follow the service. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Mr. Allen will lie in state after 12:00 noon Wednesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Memorial contributions may be given to Trinity Presbyterian Church, 4746 SW 21st, Topeka, KS 66604.
