7. Background: The family moved to Topeka in June, 1935 where he graduated from Topeka High School in
June, 1941. He was employed as a clerk in the Santa Fe Offices until a short time after his enlistment in the U. S.
Army Air Corps for Pilot training. On December 5, 1943 he received his Wings and Officers Commission and was
assigned to Combat duty as a B24 Co-Pilot and later Pilot on a crew that was ordered to the Southwest Pacific to
join the 868th Bomb Squadron known as the Snoopers. They conducted low altitude Bombing of Japanese
shipping at night using Radar. Along with receiving credit for the sinking of 4 ships, the crew had the distinction
of probably being the only crew in WW2 to sink 2 ships in one bomb run. In March 1947, he joined the State Farm
Insurance Co. where he became an agent for 37 years, retiring in Dec. 1985. During those years he enjoyed
coaching Cosmo Baseball and his work as President and early promoter of the Babe Ruth Baseball League. He
was a Founder of the Combat Air Museum and served 27 years as a Volunteer, 20 as a Tour Guide. He was a
member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion. As a member of Grace Episcopal
Cathedral for 65 years, he was privileged to serve as a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent and as a
Vestryman several times as well as a Senior Warden on 3 separate occasions.

9. Service time, day, date, place: Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 23, 2003 at Grace Episcopal
Cathedral.

10. Burial: Mount Hope Cemetery Topeka, Kansas where Military Honors will be presented by Philip
Billard Post No. 1650, V.F.W.

11. Visitation times, place: Mr. Price will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m.
Wednesday where the family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. .
