Gwendolyn Ruth McMurray

Gwendolyn Ruth McMurray, 103, of Topeka, passed away on January 10, 2025 at Midland Hospice House. She previously resided at Celebration Villa.  

She was born on September 21, 1921 to Noble and Roxana (Simmons) Linch at Ponca City, OK. 

Gwendolyn was a homemaker, and was very creative with all of her passions. She made clothes for her children, did many crafts, ceramics, gardening, and painted some beautiful pictures. 

On February 8, 1942 she married Clayton C. McMurray (CPA). Gwendolyn and Clayton first lived in Kansas City and then in Topeka, Kansas. 

Gwendolyn is survived by her daughters; Sharon Miller, Nancy Shubin, son; David McMurray (Cindy Robinson). Gwen has five adult grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; Clayton C. McMurray, and by numerous family and cherished friends.  

A family visitation will be held privately. 

Private family graveside services will take place at Mount Hope Cemetery, 4700 SW 17th, Topeka, Kansas 66604.
