Gwen Huey, 81, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2012.
Gwendolyn Louise Bradford Huey was born April 12, 1931, in Topeka, daughter of William Allen and Grace Irene (Fuqua) Bradford. She graduated from Topeka High School, where she was active in Glee Club. Gwen loved to sing and was passionate about cooking.
She worked for First State Bank & Trust, and later, Commerce Bank &Trust, retiring after 30 years of service.
Gwen was united in marriage to Walter LeRoy Huey on September 16, 1950. He passed away on January 20, 1998.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Shirley Harrison.
Gwen is survived by her two children, Gus Huey and Beth (Mike) Cromwell, of Topeka, grandchildren, Emily, Zach, and Ben Cromwell, brother, Bill (Kay) Bradford, of Topeka, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 6, 2012, at Mount Hope Mausoleum Chapel, Topeka. Private interment will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Gwen will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, where the family will greet friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
