Granville W. "Dave" Davidson, 90, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 7, 2016.
He was born May 18, 1926, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, the son of Zenas Lawyer and Ethel (Chaudoin) Davidson. He was a graduate of Tahlequah High School. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II. He graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Soil Conservation and Animal Husbandry.
Granville was employed for the U.S.D.A. Soil Conservation Service in Topeka, retiring in 1986.
Mr. Davidson was an active member of Keep America Beautiful, receiving the Volunteer of the Year Award. He remained professionally active in soil conservation and agronomy education.
Granville married Ruth Marie Cann on January 29, 1950 in Oklahoma City, OK. She survives. Other survivors include two children, Dr. Terry (Ann) Davidson, Newton and Donna Donovan, Topeka; five grandchildren, Sam and Myles Davidson, Ryan, Andrew and Molly Donovan; and a sister, Yvonne (Danny) Cox, Beggs, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two grandsons, Alex Donovan and Hadley Davidson.
Dave was a tireless worker, wonderful husband, father and grandpa. He cherished relationships with many friends and colleagues. All will miss him dearly.
Memorial service: 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 in Klasse Chapel, First United Methodist Church, 600 SW Topeka Blvd., Topeka, KS 66603.
