Grace H. White, 84, Topeka, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2017 from congestive heart failure.
Grace was born February 23, 1932 in Kansas City, MO, the daughter of Natalie (Smith) and O'Dell W. Henson. She moved to Topeka in 1946 and graduated from Topeka High School in the class of 1952.
She married William Jerry White of Kennebunk, ME in 1951. She was an active member of the Topeka Junior League for 17 years.
Grace was a charter member of the Topeka Needlework Guild and has spent time knitting, quilting, cross stitching and needlepoint since age eight. For many years she has been tracing her family roots and entered over 4,300 grave records and photos of headstones, primarily in Kennebunkport on findagrave.com.
Grace and her family have spent their summers in Cape Porpoise, ME since 1936. Survivors include her husband Willie White; daughters, Dorinda W. Davis, Kathryn (John) Stueve, of Topeka, Ann W. Campbell, Kennebunkport, ME; 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and brother, O'Dell William Henson, Jr, Chapel Hill, NC.
The family will receive friends at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Private memorial services will follow the visitation. Inurnment will be in Mount Hope Mausoleum.
