Age 98, passed away April 12, 2003 at a Topeka care facility. She was born April 1, 1905 in Ottawa KS, the daughter of John and Flora Way Collins.
Mrs. Waldo was the Area Clerk for the Soil Conversation Service from 1961 to 1970. She had worked for the for the U.S. Army Engineers for about 17 years-in KC, MO, and Topeka.
Member of Central Presbyterian Church, Woman's Club, , AARP, Retired Federal Employees, Arab Shrine Sewing Club, Moose Lodge.
She came to Topeka from Kansas City, MO in 1957 when she married John Millen, he died in 1970. She married Lester Waldo in 1975, he died in 1982.
Survivors include: One Son: Ronald C. Hanway KC, MO
One Sister: Mary Anderson Raymore, MO
Three grandchildren , Two great grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held at 10:30 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at Mount Hope Cemetery. A visitation will be held at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel from 5:30PM-7:30PM Tuesday, April 15, 2003. Memorial Contributions may be made to Central Presbyterian Church, 920 Huntoon, Topeka, KS 66604 or Arab Shrine Temple, Shrine Hospital Fund, 1305 Kansas Ave. Topeka, KS 66612 or Heart of America Hospice, 3715 SW 29th St., Suite 20, Topeka, KS 66614.
