Gordon M. Williams, 85, of Topeka passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
He was born February 18, 1932 in Colfax, IN, the son of Merrill and Ruth Williams.
Gordon attended Purdue University prior to serving in the U.S. Air Force. Following his service in the Air Force he was employed by AT & SF Railroad for over thirty years. He was an avid Indy 500 fan, having attended decades of races and was equally as enthusiastic about Hoosier basketball.
In May of 1964 he married Jan Osburn. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Cindy Brooks (Mike) and Pam Ossmann-Holmes (Pat); five grandchildren, Jennifer O'Connor (Bryan), Robyn Brown (Trevor), Andy Brooks (Barbie), Rosie Cullimore (Thomas) and Patrick Ossmann (Rey); nine great grandchildren and one sister, JoAnne Rusk (Dean) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by 1 great granddaughter.
Gordon will lie in state and the family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 9 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 S.W. 10th Ave, Topeka. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 10 at Mount Hope Funeral Chapel, 4700 S.W. 17th St.
