Gordon Wayne Kesler, 86, of Topeka, passed away Saturday, November 23, 2019.
He was born August 16, 1933, in Independence, Kansas, the son of Lawrence and Neva (Hollihan) Kesler.
Gordon graduated from Mound Valley High School in Mound Valley, Kansas in 1951. Gordon served in the United States Air Force in the Air Rescue Unit from 1952 until 1956 at Hamilton AFB in San Francisco, California and in Tripoli, Libya for one and half years.
After leaving the Air Force he attended Spartan Aeronautical School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He moved to
Topeka, Kansas in 1958 and was employed by E.I. DuPont Plant and Flexel in Tecumseh from 1958 until he retired in 1995.
Gordon married Beverly Robinson on May 24, 1959. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this last May.
Mr. Kesler was a member of the Highland Heights Christian Church, of Tecumseh and the American Legion Post 400 in Topeka, Kansas.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly C. Kesler; daughter, Stacy Campbell and husband, Dan; granddaughter, Cheyenne Williams; great-granddaughter, Chloe Haney and great-grandson, Steven Haney; brother, Robert Kesler and wife, Karen and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Juanita Kesler, Barbara Goodwin, Joan Kirby; two brothers, Quentin Kesler and Harry Kesler.
Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Friday, November 29, 2019 at Penwell-Gabel Cremations, Funerals & Receptions, 1321 SW 10th Ave. Topeka KS, 66604. A Funeral Ceremony will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, in Topeka, KS.
