Gordon Hickman, 90, of El Dorado, passed away Monday, August 21, 2023.
He was born November 13, 1932, in El Dorado, Kansas, the son of Joseph and Edith (Wilcox) Hickman. He graduated from Burns High School.
After graduation, Gordon joined the United States Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict from 1952-1956.
He was employed by Texaco for 35 years, retiring in 1992.
Gordon had a passion for planting and sharing his home-grown tomatoes.
He is survived by his children, Julie (Terry) Ledford, Marsha (Matt) Kay Armfield and David Hickman; six grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and sister, Billie Bigelow. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Betty Griffith, Jerry Hickman, Jack Hickman and Patricia Weichold; ex-wife, Sally Hickman and one great grandchild.
A private burial will take place at a later date at the Blankinship Cemetery in Rosalia, KS. Memorial contributions may be made to Interim Hospice of Topeka, 1251 SW Arrowhead Rd, #103, Topeka, KS 66604 and the American Legion of El Dorado, 1801 W Central Ave, El Dorado, KS 67042.
