Gloria J. Steinbock, 86, of Topeka, died on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at St. Francis Hospital.
Gloria was born on April 25, 1928 in Marysville, Kansas the daughter of Jesse and LaVina (Newell) Hurley. She graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City, OK in 1946.
She worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas and retired in 1977.
She married Leonard Steinbock on August 22, 1953 in Lawrence, Kansas; he preceded her in death on July 23, 2014. She was a wife, mom, grandma, and great-grandma; those were her favorite roles in life.
Survivors include daughter Nancy (David) Clark, Topeka; three sons, Mark (Marcia) Steinbock, Tecumseh, Leonard "Craig" (Debbie) Steinbock and Gary Steinbock, both of Topeka; 11 grandchildren, Brian Miller, Lynda (Wade) Wasinger, Valerie (Scott) Edelman, Dustin Clark, Melissa Clark, Jessica (Bryan) Reichle, Rebecca Ferretti, Katelyn Ferretti, Christopher Rohr, Gloria L. Steinbock, and Samantha Steinbock; 12 great-grandchildren, Dylan, Riley, Logan, Allyson, and Madelyn Wasinger, Cayden, Carson, Tate, and Sawyer Edelman, Brandon Reichle, Bentley Young, and Brylee Jean Christman. Her family was her world and she will be sadly missed by all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Kathleen Campbell, her two brothers, Bud and Daryl Hurley, her daughter, Darla Ferretti, and a great-granddaughter, Amelia Wasinger.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00p.m. on Monday, April 13 at the Mount Hope Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 14 at the Mount Hope Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel is assisting the family with the arrangements.
