Glenna VanVleck, 91, Topeka, died Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at her home.
She was born May 30, 1917 in Topeka, the daughter of Otis and Ferol Howard McClenny. She graduated from Topeka High School and was a lifelong resident of Topeka.
Glenna was a bookkeeper for Mize Houser for 32 years before retiring. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Social Order of the Beauceant, and was a Past Worthy Matron of Beulah Chapter #34 O.E.S. She was an avid bridge player and KU basketball fan, having held season tickets for many years.
She married Marvin VanVleck on September 13, 1942 in Topeka. He died April 2, 1979.
Survivors include her sister, Lorraine Bibb, and her nephew, Frank V. Bibb, both of Topeka.
Following Glenna's wishes, no public funeral service will be held. She will lie in state from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Cremation will follow. Private inurnment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
