Glenna M. Wildermuth

Glenna Marie (Icks) Wildermuth, 83, Topeka, passed away on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at a local hospital.

Glenna was born August 8, 1925 in Oskaloosa, the daughter of William Paul and Anna (Reeves) Icks. She grew up in Oskaloosa and graduated from Oskaloosa Rural High School in 1943. Glenna moved with her family to Lawrence in 1943.

She was employed as a secretary at Capital Federal and USD-501 schools, serving at Clay, Roosevelt and Shaner schools, retiring in 1986.

She was a member of Crestview United Methodist Church.

Glenna married David H. Wildermuth on April 10, 1955 in Lawrence. He survives. Also surviving is one son, Paul David Wildermuth and wife, Karie; grandsons, who she so dearly loved, Paul Jr. "PJ", and Jason Dean "JD" Wildermuth, all of Topeka; nieces, Anna Marie Hickock, Linda K. Merchant; and nephew, Robert Icks. She was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin, and nephew, William Icks.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Glenna will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
