Glenna M. Ross began her life journey June 25, 1936; it came to an end July 26, 2015. She was born in Sentinel, Oklahoma, the daughter of C. Glen and Flora M. Shrum Quillin. She was a graduate of Garland High School. In 1959, Glenna graduated from Texas Women's University, Denton, Texas, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy with a minor in Psychology. She was registered with the Occupational Therapy Association and had clinical affiliations at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, Topeka Veterans Administration Hospital, and Wood Veterans Administration Hospital in Wood, Wisconsin.
Glenna met Jack L. Ross, M.D. (the love of her life) at the Topeka VA and married July 16, 1960, in Garland, Texas. They were immediately transferred to Hawaii for Jack's military service, which Glenna lovingly referred to as their "two year honeymoon". There in Honolulu, she worked at the Cerebral Palsy Association with severely disabled children. Glenna and Jack then returned to Topeka where they established lasting roots.
Glenna was a lifelong member of the Methodist Church. She and Jack were charter members of Susanna Wesley United Methodist Church where she was a faithful servant to her church and community. Glenna volunteered at numerous organizations including Topeka Medical Auxiliary at East Topeka Clinic, Community Nursery School, Picture Lady Art Education at Wanamaker Elementary, Learning Disabilities Program at Jay Shideler Junior High School, Girl Scouts, Everywoman's Resource Center, American Cancer Society, Multiple Sclerosis Society, and Aldersgate Village.
Glenna's interests included people, travel, and most of all, family and home. She was a very dedicated and most compassionate daughter, wife, mother, EE (grandmother name), sister, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; and brother, Tom Quillin.
