Glenn Britton, 59, passed away Sunday May 29, 2022 surrounded by close friends and family.

He was born November 6,1962 in Salina Ks, the son of Morris J and Pearl G (Colby) Britton. The Family moved to Topeka in 1971 and Glenn attended Topeka public schools graduating from Topeka West High School Class of 1981. Glenn spent many years working in Auto Body Shops as a Painter. He was employed by Custom Coach Works,Vic Yarrington Oldsmobile and Yingling Auto Body. He also was self-employed doing body work and paint restoring many classic cars, motorcycles and also was known to paint flames on mail boxes and toilet seats just for the fun of it. The last few years Glenn worked at Bailey Recycling.

If Glenn painted your pinewood derby car you were the envy of every scout in the pack. He always strived to be the best at everything he did and was eager to get it just right. Glenn made friends easily and connected with people from all walks of life, he enjoyed people and would do anything for anybody to help them out. He loved to tease and give people a hard time. He had a quick,sharp wit and always found a way to make people feel comfortable and at ease.

Glenn was preceded in death by his much beloved daughter, Mandy and his father, Morris.

He is survived by his best friend and grandson Kage; mother Pearl Colby; sister Cheryl Babcock; brother Kendall Britton and daughter Courtney McGhee.

Glenn had many close friends that he cherished and the outpouring of support during the final days of his life was truly amazing.

A celebration of Glen's life will be held at 10am, Monday June 6,2022 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. A dinner will follow at 1pm at 431 SE Dupont, Topeka. The family is very thankful for the compassion shown to Glenn in his final days providing loving care and attention by Tim and Linda Rohr, Bernie Schmidtlein, Sami Moore and Chris Cushing.
