Glenda (Stites) Kalcik, 53, of Silver Lake, passed away Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
She was born November 18, 1958 in Topeka, the daughter of Duane and Relda (Smith) Stites. She was a graduate of Silver Lake High School and Emporia State University.
She was employed by Galen Meyers and Associates, later for Brown and Baker, and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas.
She was a member of the Silver Lake United Methodist Church.
Glenda married Russell Kalcik on October 21, 1978 at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church. He survives of the home. Other survivors include two children, Travis (Nanette) Kalcik, Wichita and Mallory Kalcik, Topeka; two sisters, Deb Morton, Topeka, and Penny Freeman, Olathe; her father Duane Stites, Silver Lake. She was preceded in death by her mother, Relda Stites.
A funeral ceremony will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 4, 2012 at the Silver Lake United Methodist Church, 204 Madore St., Silver Lake, KS 66539. Interment will follow at Silver Lake Cemetery. Glenda will lie in state after 3 p.m., Friday, at the Penwell-Gabel Parker-Price Chapel, 245 NW Independence Ave, Topeka, where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care of Kansas, 200 SW Frazier Cir., Topeka, KS 66606 or to Silver Lake Library, 203 W Railroad Ave., Silver Lake, KS 66539.
