Glen L. Weichold, 77, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born May 7, 1936 in Marion, KS, the son of Walter F. and Ida Wambsganas Weichold. He graduated from Marion High School.
Glen resided in Wichita before moving to Topeka in 1968. He was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad for 30 years before retiring. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church.
Glen married Patricia E. Hickman on January 5, 1958 in El Dorado, KS. She survives. Other survivors include three children, Brenda (Mike) Segelquist of Topeka, Linda (Ken) Weichold of Woodbridge, VA, Glen A. (Jill) Weichold of Blue Springs, MO, four grandchildren, Brandon, Emily, Tyler and Andy, one brother, Dean Weichold of Topeka and his beloved dog, Gus.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Glen will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Faith Lutheran Church, 1716 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, KS 66604.
