Glen H. Shahan, 94, of Topeka, passed away April 12, 2012. He was born March 6, 1918, in Roff, OK, the son of Alfred C. and Ada M. Hickman Shahan. Glen was a 1936 graduate of Fitzuh High School in Roff. On May 29, 1952, Glen married Anita Herrell. She preceded him in death in 2001. Glen served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy. He spent 48 years with Highway Oil in Topeka, where he retired as President. Glen was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener, and especially enjoyed working cattle.
Survivors include children, Judy Fields and Lavita Wessel of Topeka, John Shahan of California, and Glenda Stephens and Lavern Gann of Texas; 22 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Lou Shahan.
Mr. Shahan will lie in state from 8:00-11:00 a.m. Friday, April 20, 2012, at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Graveside service will follow at 11:30 a.m. at West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
