Gertrude "Gertie" Calderwood, 92, Topeka, passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017.
She was born January 9, 1925, in Reserve, Kansas, the daughter of Sperry, Sr. and Mabel (Squires) Craig.
She graduated from Topeka High School and Clark's Business College.
Gertie was employed by Santa Fe Railroad, retiring in 1987.
She was a member of First Baptist Church, Shriner's Ladies Golf Club, lifetime member of Holton Country Club and past member of Order of the Eastern Star.
Gertrude married O.H. "Ozzie" Calderwood on August 23, 1944 in Topeka, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 23, 2003. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Jeanne Frost and three siblings, Geneva Helmick, John Craig and Sperry Wesley Craig, Jr.
Survivors include two daughters: Connie (Wes) Thomas, Colorado and Jan (Donny) Davis, Topeka; sister, Jacqueline Huffman, California and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Gertie loved family time and golfing.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, 2017 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Interment will follow at Topeka Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
