Geralyn Ann Frederick

Geralyn Ann Frederick, 59, of Topeka, passed away on Friday, December 4, 2015 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born April 4, 1956 in Topeka, the daughter of Jerome W. and Marion (Pfannenstiel) Desch.
Geralyn graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 1974. She resided in Virginia Beach, VA and South Carolina prior to returning to Topeka in 1993.
Geralyn was employed by the City of Topeka. She was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church.
Geralyn married James W. Frederick on February 14, 1997. He survives. Other survivors include her mother, Marion Desch of Topeka, her siblings, Diane (Dennis) Staab of Basehor, KS, Daniel (Jayne) Desch of Tecumseh, KS, Nancy (James) Shrewsbury of Auburn, KS, Gary Desch of Gig Harbor, WA and Steven (Susan) Desch of Shawnee, KS, many nieces and nephews, one great-niece, two step-sons, Jimmy Frederick, Jason Frederick, one step-daughter, Lisa Metcalf and several step-grandchildren.
Geralyn was preceded in death by her father, Jerome W. Desch, two brothers, John Desch as an infant and Michael Desch on March 8, 2004 and her sister, Geri Ann Wardein on December 12, 1995. She was also preceded in death by three infant nieces, Rachelle, Amber and Andrea Staab.
Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at Mater Dei Holy Name Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 9:00 until 9:30 a.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. prior to the Mass. Inurnment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Midland Care, 200 SW Frazier Circle, Topeka, KS 66606. Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel is assisting the family.
