Geraldine "Gerry" Dodge, 87, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, December 30, 2012.
Gerry was born February 28, 1925, in Ellinwood, Kansas, the daughter of John P. and Esther (Harms) Kliewer. She graduated from Lawrence Memorial High School. Gerry married Clayton T. Dodge, April 23, 1944, in Lawrence, Kansas.
She was active at Hillcrest Congregational Church, Whittier, California, and was elected President of Las Damas Womens Club, Whittier, California, which raised funds for children with handicaps. Gerry was a member of First Congregational Church, Topeka, where she was active as a Deaconess, a Sunday school teacher, and President of Womens Fellowship. She was interested in working with organizations that benefited children.
Gerry enjoyed working with her husband as he escorted tours to Europe and several cruises. She had great love for her husband and family, and was a wonderful homemaker.
Gerry is survived by her husband, Clayton, Topeka, daughter, Nancy Davis and husband, Dr. Chester, Topeka, son, Robert Dodge, Thiensville, Wisconsin, brother, Duane Kliewer and wife, Annette, Omaha, Nebraska, grandchildren, Germaine Wong, and husband, Han-Chiat, Alex Davis and wife, Rena, Luke Dodge and wife, Lynn, and April Dodge, and great granddaughter, Anna Yu-Ting Wong.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter.
Mrs. Dodge was cremated and graveside services will be private.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013, at First Congregational Church, Topeka.
