Georgia Lois Ward, 84, formerly of Yoder, Kansas, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2012 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born on September 9, 1928 in Hoyt, Kansas to George Edward and Zadelle Mary (Fletcher) Penry.
Lois was a member of various Baptist Churches in Kansas and was very active with Riverside Baptist Church in Hutchinson, Kansas. She was a supervisor for Hallmark Greeting Cards in Topeka.
On September 8, 1945, she married Earl A. Ward in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include their children, Leonard Gary Ward, Sr. of Tucson, AZ; Earline (Steven) Shaw of Cave Creek, AZ and Larry Ward of Hutchinson, Kansas; three sisters, Dorothy Linder of Topeka, Kansas; Phyllis McKay of Shreve Port, LA and Mary Pagel of Hoyt, Kansas; six grandchildren, Shelly, Kenda, Raquel, Janette, Leonard, Jr. and Ryan; ten great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. She was preceded in death by one brother, Cecil Penry.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, January 7, 2013 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in the Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
