George Steuber

George Emil Steuber, 78, Burlington, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2005 at Coffey County Hospital.

George was born October 1, 1927 in Westphalia, the son of Emil Henry and Anna Behrens Steuber.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

George worked for many years in bridge construction throughout Eastern Kansas.

George was a member of the Topeka Chapter of Parents without Partners and was a volunteer at the V.A. Medical Center, serving over 3,700 hours.

Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Paulette Ferko, Shavertown, PA and Wendy Steuber, Wichita; two grandchildren; Andrew Ferko, Wilkes-Barre, PA and Amelia Ferko, Salina; a brother, Arnold Steuber, Topeka, and sisters; Ruby Sullivan, Montana and Louise Becker, Concord, CA.

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, November 21, 2005 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery. Mr. Steuber will lie in state at the funeral home after 2:00 P.M. on Sunday.
