George Leslie Harvell, 91, of Topeka, passed away Friday, June 15, 2007 at his home.
He is survived by his wife, Irene V. Harvell; his children, Juanice G. Rodriguez and husband, Joe of Topeka, sons, C. Ray Harvell and wife, Joan of Wichita, KS, and Ronnie Joe Harvell of Wichita, KS; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eldridge Harvell and sister, Grace Moser.
George was born on September 21, 1915, the son of Raymond and Vinnie Harvell in Rogers, AR.
He was united in marriage to Irene V. Miller on October 30, 1937 in Lafferty, AR.
He retired as a mechanic from Sante Fe Railroad after 32 years of service and was a member of Light of the World Christian Center.
Funeral services for Mr. Harvell will be held at 1:00 p.m., Monday, June 18, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
