George Robert "Bob" Craig, 69, Topeka, passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2008 at Midland Hospice House.
George "Bob" was born July 13, 1938 in Lawrence, the son of George M. and Vivian E. (Patchen) Craig, who preceded him in death.
He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1956. He was married to Janice C. Craig (Spear) and later divorced in 1975. He marrried Lois (Hall) Dolezal on December 25, 1979. They enjoyed extensive traveling and company promotions throughout the United States and Mexico as a result of his sales achievements. He was an entrepreneur of many businesses, including the Dollar Wise Motel in Wilson and earned Diamond Status in Bon Del. In every company, he won top awards. He was an active member of the Lions Club of Wilson and Russell. He retired from Laidlaw Bus Company. George spent his life in Vinland, Lawrence, Baldwin, Wilson, Russell, Gorham and Topeka.
Survivors include his wife, Lois of Topeka; faithful companion, Angel; two sisters, Shirley Craig, Topeka; Barbara and Dale Bryans, Topeka; four brothers, Carl and Suzie Craig, Lawrence; Ronnie and Helen Craig, Mission, Texas; Richard and Sandy Craig, Lawrence; Gary Craig, Lawrence; children, Christopher Craig, Dallas, Texas; Kelly and Brad Wall, Winfield; Kevin and Roberta Craig, The Colony, Texas; Michael and Stacy Craig, Russell; Michelle and Mark Kirk, Baldwin; Rebecca and Doyle Jardon, Baldwin; Alan and Sandy Dolezal, Edmond, Oklahoma; John and Jeri Dolezal, Skiatook, Oklahoma; Linda Keller, Manhattan; Laura Jones, Manhattan; 20 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. today at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel with a Memorial service at a later date. Private family inurnment will follow.
