Genevieve M. Cummings, 99, Roseville, CA, formerly of Topeka, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013.
Genevieve was born February 1, 1913 in Pittsbur, KS, the daughter of A.L. and Grace (Owings) Russell. She graduated from Pittsburg State University and attended The University of Kansas and Washburn University.
She was an elementary school teacher in Slaton, TX and in the Topeka USD-501 School district.
Genevieve married Edwin D. Cummings on May 27, 1939. He died June 27, 2002. Survivors include sons, Russell E. Cummings and Roger D. Cummings, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Genevieve was a member of First Presbyterian Church, A.A.U.W., P.E.O. Chapter DN, TARTA and did volunteer work for many organizations.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Topeka.
