Garold R. Albrecht, Sr., 85, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2016, at Midland Hospice House.
Garold was born at home February 24, 1930, in Wolverton, MN, to Fred and Luella (Berg) Albrecht the third of five children.
He was a husband of 62 years, married in 1954 in Minnesota. He was an Army Veteran of 22 years. Served in occupied Japan, active military during Korean War, served in Vietnam before retiring. He then enjoyed a 20 year career with the US Postal Service in Topeka, KS.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene "Kay" Albrecht; two children, Karen Branam of Ozawkie, and Garold Albrecht, Jr. of Dothan, AL; five grandchildren, five great grandchildren; and brother, Leroy Albrecht.
Garold was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Frederick and David Albrecht; and sister, Phyllis Anderson.
A graveside service with military honors will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, 3616 SW 6th Ave, Topeka, KS 66606.
