Galen Meyers

Galen J. Meyers, 76, of Leawood, KS, formerly of Topeka, passed away, Saturday, November 27, 2010.
He was born July 15, 1934 in Topeka, KS the son of Herman and Esther (Barrett) Meyers.
Galen Meyers was with American United Life (AUL) since 1959 and is the only agent ever to have more than $100 million of life insurance in force with the company. For many years, Galen was a career agent in Topeka, KS where he consistently led the company in applications written. He has been a member of the Million Dollar Round Table since 1961 and has qualified for every AUL business conference for which he was eligible.
Galen married Carolyn Henderson June 19, 1955 in Arkansas. She survives. Other survivors include one son, Royce Meyers; three daughters, Tamara Meyers, Julia Meyers and Janis Putnam; his grandchildren, Sarah Luellen, Heidi Kendle, Clinton Douglas, Jessica Meyers, Justin Barnes, Cody Putnam, Bradley Davis and Matthew Meyers; seven great granddaughters and his sister, Marian Martin. He was preceded in death by his son Gregory Meyers.
Mr. Meyers will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. that evening. A graveside ceremony will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Auburn Cemetery, Auburn, KS.
