Frieda Schellhorn
Frieda E. Schellhorn, 76, Topeka, passed away on Thursday, June 5, 2008 at a local hospital.
Frieda was born August 21, 1931 in Kansas City, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred (Strong) Stroup. She graduated from Agra High School in 1949.
She worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as an Operator and also for Gas Service Company.
She was a active member of Quivira Heights Church of Christ.
Frieda married Carl R. Schellhorn on August 30, 1956 in Topeka. He survives. Other survivors include daughters; Kathy Kroh, and Carleen Chowning, both of Kansas City, Kelly Thompson, Topeka; nine grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters, Lily Arlene Turner, Joyce Snell, Betty Franklin, Millie Shipp, Donna Jefferson, Barbara Spurlock; and brother, Raymond Dee Stroup. She was preceded in death by brothers, Howard Eugene Stroup and LeRoy Keith Stroup.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 10, 2008 at Quivira Heights Church of Christ. Burial will follow in Penwell-Gabel Cemetery. Frieda will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. on Monday and visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
