Fredrick James Church

Fredrick James Church, 57, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. He was born on January 2, 1952 in Oskaloosa, the son of Wayne Alfred and Velma Odessa Petitt Church. Fred was employed at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company for many years and volunteered at Doorstep, Inc. for the past eight years. Survivors include one daughter, Jennifer A. Church of Topeka, three grandchildren, Trevon Brown, Tamara Brown, Dabreanna Brown, his mother, Velma Church of Oskaloosa, two sisters, Jan Patterson of Hoyt and Jo Adams of Oskaloosa. He leaves a host of family and friends whom he loved. Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Private inurnment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Doorstep Inc., 1119 SW 10th Ave, Topeka, KS 66604.
