Freda Taber, 83, died January 20, 2013, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka, KS.
She was born Aug. 8, 1929, the daughter of Luther P. and Nellie (Degler) Dove. She married Lawrence E. Taber March 26, 1949, in Cabool, MO. He died June 20, 2003.
Freda graduated from Cabool High School. She was a reporter for the Columbia Daily Tribune and the Cabool Enterprise. She retired after working 18 years as a clerk in the Department of Revenue for the state of Kansas.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Doris, and brother-in-law, Paul Harms.
She is survived by a daughter, Laura and son-in-law, James Baer, Burlingame, KS; a son, James D. Taber, Topeka, KS; and two granddaughters, Krystal and her husband, Tai J. Vokins, Lawrence, KS; and Melissa J. Baer and her fiancé, Michael Feldhausen, Overland Park, KS.
A memorial service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka, KS.
