Freda Beam
Freda A. Beam, 100, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, March 23 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born March 18, 1905 in Carr Creek Township, Mitchell County, the daughter of Louise K. (Haseltine) and Ralph Leslie Norton.
She graduated from Cawker City High School in 1923. After high school, she married R. Howard Beam on June 14, 1925 in Carr Creek, Mitchell County at her grandmothers home. Mr Beam Preceded her in death 1992. She was also preceded in death by by two sons, Howard N. and Cleon G. Beam.
Survivors include three sons; Harold L., Linn L., and L. Gene Beam, three daughters; Marvel Leachman, Patricia Vines, and Donavee Throop, 20 grandchildren, 36 great cgrandchildren and 17 great great Grandchildren.
Mrs. Beam will lie in state after 2:00 pm Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will greet friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm that evening. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 am Saturday March 26 at the funeral home with burial to follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
