Fred H. Garst, 55, of Topeka, passed away, Wednesday, February 22, 2006.
He was born October 3, 1950 in Salina, Kansas the son of Lafe and Alice Garst, Sr..
He served 24 years with the City as a supervisor with the Water Pollution Control Department.
Fred was an avid NASCAR enthusiast.
He married Susan Frendle in 1972. They divorced in 1989. He later married Louise Sumner February 12, 2002. She survives. Other survivors include three sons, Joey Garst, Topeka; Chad Garst, Sioux City, NE; Fred Garst and his wife Kyndra, Maple Hill, KS; three grand children, six brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 25, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow at the Delia Cemetery. Mr. Garst will lie in state after 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home where the family will greet friends from 5:30 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. that evening.
