Frank H. Benton, 89, Topeka, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2017.

He was born September 13, 1928, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Stephen and Mildred (Dinkle) Benton.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Frank was a welder and carman for the Santa Fe Railroad for 44 years, retiring on September 1, 1988.
Mr. Benton was a member of Grace Baptist Church, V.F.W., American Legion and National Campers & Hikers Association. Frank was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and a member of the Topeka Motorcycle Club in the 1940's.

Frank married Shirley Joan Spaulding on July 17, 1981 in Topeka, Kansas. She survives. Other survivors include children, Gary Alu (Kerri), Marie Nightingale (Scott), Tim Benton (Priscilla) and Sharon Huskey (Harold); brothers, Duane Benton (Phyllis, deceased), Charlie Benton (Mary) and Ed Benton (Donna); grandchildren, Brian Alu, Sarah Gold, Jordan Gold, Dylan Gold, Wyatt Nightingale, Trevor Benton (Ashli), Tisha Duncan, Mark Manning and Nick Manning; great-grandchildren, Dominik Benton, Lilyana Benton, Ryleigh Benton and Mason Manning.

Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Mount Hope Cemetery & Funeral Chapel, 4700 SW 17th St., Topeka. Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Interment with military honors will follow.
