Francisco "Frank" D. Guerrero, 83, Topeka, died Friday, April 2, 2010 at Midland Hospice House.
He was born March 1, 1927 in Topeka, the son of Nicholas and Soledad Tetuan Guerrero. He was a lifelong Topeka resident.
Frank was employed at Santa Fe Railroad and also owned Guerrero Groceries. He was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Church.
He married Esther Guerrero on August 20, 1949 in Topeka. She died December 23, 1982. He married Iris Toledo on June 29, 1985 in Topeka. She survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Laura Alley (Jim) and Frances Guerrero-Borjon (Ron) both of Topeka; a son, Charles Guerrero of Topeka; 3 step-daughters, Laura Rivera (Luis) of Topeka, Sharon Cruz (Frank) of Olathe, Monique Sanders (Cliff)of Topeka, and two step-sons, Greg Florez of Wichita and Eddie Florez of Leavenworth; 18 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Frank James Guerrero, three brothers and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Mater Dei's Holy Name Catholic Church. Cremation will follow. Private family inurnment will be in Mt. Auburn Cemetery.
Mr. Guerrero will lie in state after noon Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m.
