Francis M. "Bud" Martin
Francis M. "Bud" Martin was born on Nov. 2 ,1928 in Topeka, KS to Francis H. and Mildred A. Martin. Bud attended school in Rossville and graduated from Washburn University in Topeka.
He married his high school sweetheart, Thelma Parr, in the Rossville Christian Church on Aug. 8, 1948. She survives. He is also survived by three daughters, Sheryl Ouellette and Pam Cullen of Topeka and Debra Matthews of New Braunfels, TX., one son, Samuel Martin of Topeka, twelve grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Bud retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. after 25 years and from The State of Kansas after 11 years. He was a member of West Side Christian church for 54 years, the Masonic Lodge #90 and Scottish Rite Body of Topeka.
Bud was cremated and at his request there will be no formal memorial service. An informal gathering of family and friends will be held in Fellowship Hall at West Side Christian Church on March 7th between 2:00 and 3:30.
Memorial contributions may be made to West Side Christian church, 432 SW Lindenwood, Topeka, Kansas 66606.
He died this morning at Stormont Vail Hospital- cremation arrangements have been made with Penwell Gable Mid Town Chapel in Topeka.
