Francis Louise Bowman, 95, died Friday, November 26, 2010, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was born January 11, 1915, in Kansas City, Missouri, to John and Alice Roberts. Louise was married to Herbert Bowman for 63 years before his death in July, 2002. She is survived by her brother, Charles Roberts, of Salt Lake City, Utah, and by her son, Laird Bowman, of Colorado Springs, Laird's wife, Mary, and three grandchildren, Debbie Cuchiara, Mitzi Bowman, and Nicholas Bowman; three great grandchildren, Jeremy Cuchiara, Leah Cuchiara and Gavin Bowman; and one great, great grandchild, Jazmine Hines.
Louise graduated from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas, and was a member of Delta Gamma Society. Louise and Herb lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico, 1962 until 1994, when they moved to Viewpoint Retirement Center in Colorado Springs. They spent many years traveling in their Airstream including Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Canada and spending many winters in Yuma, Arizona. Louise was an avid bridge player and was still playing within a few months of her death.
Following a 9 a.m. viewing at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka, KS 66604, a graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery & Mausoleum, 3616 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66606.
