Frances M. (Arnold) Elder, 98, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2016, at Lexington Park Assisted Living Facility, Topeka.
Frances was born February 11, 1918, in Blue Rapids, KS, to Harry and Edith (Brotherton) Arnold.
She married Merlin Elder on November 10, 1938, in Blue Rapids, KS.
Frances was a member of First United Methodist Church in Topeka and the American Legion Auxiliary in Blue Rapids.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband; son, Kenneth Elder; and four siblings, Helen Hunt, Bessie (Jennings) Jones, Leonard Arnold, and William Arnold.
She is survived by her four grandchildren, Stephen, Gretchen, Nicholas, and Kathryn; seven great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Janis Elder.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2016, at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Ave., Topeka. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Topeka. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the service.
