Frances L. Clements, 85, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born February 7, 1926 in St. Louis, MO, the daughter of Dr. James O. and Flora A. Simons Peeler.
She graduated from Beaumont High School in St. Louis in 1945. She had resided in Topeka since 1963. She was employed by the Kansas Legislature for 10 years. She was a former member of Trinity Presbyterian Church, volunteered at Stormont-Vail Hospital, McEachron Elementary School in the school library and at Topeka West High School with the Boys Cross Country team. She also served as a PTA Secretary. Frances married Marvin E. Clements September 7, 1948 in St. Louis, MO. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew P. Newcomer and her brother, Walter "Eugene" Ragsdale and two sisters, Jeanette Meredith and Alice Mae "Patsy" Matausek.
Survivors include three children, James "Jim" Thomas (Margaret) Clements, Mark Edward (Karen) Clements and Janet Louise (Joseph) Cummings of Topeka, and three grandchildren, Christopher Clements, Michael (Amy) Clements and Julie Clements-Randel.
Private memorial services will be at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel.
