Fr. Gerald E. Parks, 74, of Topeka, passed away Monday, April 4, 2016.
He was born June 25, 1941, in Osage City, Kansas to Everett and Doris (Batchelor) Parks.
He grew up in Phoenix, AZ and later moved to Visalia, CA where he attended the College of the Sequoias, transferring to Emporia State University to complete his degree in Music Education. He taught in several schools throughout the state.
He was ordained a priest in the Anglican Church where he lead the parish in Topeka at St. Augustine's.
He married Janet Hefner on July 19, 1963. She survives. Other survivors include children Stacey Burdick (Jeff), Erin Gleeson (Mike), Jenny Warner, Marvin Parks (Kathy), Roxann Reich (Tom), nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sisters, Sally Parker, Visalia, CA, and Mary Ann Fink, Benicia, CA; and four nieces and a nephew.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 9, 2016 at St. Augustine's Anglican Church, 2140 S.W. Hodges Rd., Topeka, KS 66604.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Augustine's to establish a memorial fund in Fr. Park's name.
