Floye Barnard

Floye M. (Strait) Barnard, 89, Topeka, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2007 at Midland Hospice House. She was born in Delia, March 18, 1918, the daughter of Claude and Lillie Graham. She married Clarence (Chick) Strait, June 5, 1937. He died Jan. 23, 1977. She married Wayne Barnard Sept. 19, 1981. He died May 4, 2004. Wayne and Floye were part of the Faith Gospel Singers for many years. A daughter, Sharon Jordan, preceded her in death, April 26, 2002. She is survived by; two daughters, Linda (Jack) Taylor, Topeka, Sally (Terry) Smith, Paris Tennessee, and a brother, Jerry Graham of Shawnee. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by those who loved her. A funeral service will be held at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid-Town Chapel, Topeka, with burial to follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Mrs. Barnard will lie in state after noon, Monday, August 20, at the funeral home, with a family visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., that evening.
