Floyd B. Jones, 89, Topeka, passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2013.

Floyd was born February 9, 1924 in Hugo, Oklahoma, the son of Luther Thomas and Ethyl (Crowson) Jones.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He worked as an Inspector at Goodyear for 39 years, retiring in 1986. He was a member of Quivira Heights Church of Christ where he served as an Elder.
Floyd married Lillie Mae Houchens on September 9, 1944 in Hugo, OK. She died March 21, 2011. Survivors include their children, Edward B. (Donna) Jones, Topeka, Beverly J. (John) Neal, Firestone, CO, Norman W. (Melisa) Jones, Topeka; five grandchildren; and great grandchildren. Floyd was preceded in death by brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Quivira Heights Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery. Floyd will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel after 2:00 p.m. today and visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
