Floyd A. Eaton, 98, Topeka, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Midland Hospice House.
Floyd was born August 1, 1917 in Greenleaf, KS, the son of Leslie and Amanda Eaton. He graduated from Greenleaf High School in 1936. He enlisted in the Army Air Corp on September 25, 1942 and was honorably discharged on February 13, 1946.
Floyd was a clerk at Emhhizor-Spielman Furniture Company and later spent 21 years as a clerk for Topeka Foundry & Iron Works, where he served as a director on its Board for 40+ years.
He was a member of the Downtown Optimist Club and American Legion.
Floyd married Charlotte Caye on October 4, 1945 at Base Chapel, Columbia, SC. They celebrated 66 years of marriage prior to her death on August 30, 2012. Survivors include sons, Dennis Eaton (Sandy Trimble) and Kevin Eaton (Lora Carlson), all of Topeka; grandchildren, Kimberly Montaini (Aron) and Scott Eaton; and great-grandchildren, Thomas Bell and Christian Montaini.
Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016. Private family inurnment will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
