Flossie L. Dunnaway, 98, of Topeka, passed away Friday, February 9, 2007 at Aldersgate Village.
Flossie was born June 30, 1908, in Eldon, Missouri, the daughter of Edward and Bertie Marriott. She grew up in Eldon and graduated high school. After graduation, she taught school for a couple of years.
Flossie married Ira W. Dunnaway on December 24, 1928. He preceded her in death in 1980.
She was a longtime member of University United Methodist Church.
She is survived by three children, Bob Dunnaway and wife, Shirley of Topeka, Jim Dunnaway and wife, Jean, of Centre, AL, and Doris Neugebauer, of Topeka, 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel, 1321 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery, Perry, Kansas. She will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home where her family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. that evening.
