Florence Vann Mccaul

Florence Vann McCaul, 103, of Topeka, formerly of Dover, passed away, Tuesday, November 23, 2010.

She was born June 18, 1907 in Quinter, Kansas the daughter of Joseph Peter and Mary Catherine (Jamison) Boitnott. She was a 1927 graduate of Quinter High School.

Mrs. McCaul was a homemaker. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church.

Florence married Sidney A. Vann December 14, 1927 in WaKeeney, Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1960. She married Allen P. McCaul in 1996. He preceded her in death in 2005.

Survivors include her daughter, Mary Logan, Burlington, KS; her son, Sidney Vann; Topeka, KS; grandchildren, Robert W. Logan, Barbara Sowder and Kim L. Vann; great grandchildren, Amanda Szambecki, Adam and Clinton Sowder, Ashley Vann, Dakota Logan and Heather Logan Noonan; nine great- great grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; two step great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by four sisters and one brother.

Mrs. McCaul will lie in state from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday at the Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. A funeral ceremony will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday November 30, 2010 at the funeral home followed by burial in Dover Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the ceremony.
