Florence Isabelle Edwards

Florence Isabelle Edwards, 97, formerly of Topeka, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at her home in Orlando, FL, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 24, 1912 in Amiott, Anderson Co., KS, the youngest of ten children born to Jacob and Rosa Baird Cramer. She resided in Lebo, KS and St. Joseph, MO before moving to Topeka in 1942. She was employed by Luce Press Clippings as a reader supervisor before retiring in 1975. Florence was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Capitola Rebekah Lodge and the Order Of Eastern Star. She was also a genealogy enthusiast. Florence married Thomas B. Edwards on October 14, 1933. He preceded her in death as did an infant son and daughter. Survivors include one daughter, Florence Yvonne Craig of Orlando, FL, one son, Joseph Benton Edwards of Hays, KS, four granddaughters and four great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery. Florence will lie in state one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
